Long-term Care Registered Nurse (LTC RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Long-term Care Registered Nurse (LTC RN) to provide quality care to residents in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess strong supervisory skills, and have experience in medication administration and patient supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Administer medications and perform medical care as required.
Provide wound care, Foley care, and ostomy care.
Supervise and support CNAs and TMAs in daily activities.
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for residents.
Monitor residents' health and report any changes to the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in a nursing home setting.
Experience with medication administration and patient supervision is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Facility Information

This nursing home is attached to a hospital and offers various services including emergency room care, imaging, pharmacy, and therapy.

The facility has a total of 38 private rooms and provides care to residents with common diagnoses such as COPD, dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and congestive heart failure.

Work Environment

Shift options available: 8-hour or 12-hour shifts.
Block scheduling is available based on operational needs.
Weekend and holiday work is required on an alternating basis.
On-site pharmacy to support medication dispensing.

Orientation

New hires will undergo department-specific orientation, where orientation shifts will be provided as needed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of facility protocols and expectations.
