Veterinary Technician - Surgery

CARE Veterinary Center is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Frederick, MD.

About You

You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end surgical and perioperative care for our critical patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of preparing patients, monitoring anesthesia, and assisting in advanced procedures, to support services including instrument management, sterile technique and coordinating post-operative recovery.

Your Experience & Skills

· Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience as a Veterinary Technician (direct patient care)

· CVT/RVT/LVT (active and current) strongly preferred

· Superior/advanced technical skills

· Has strong anesthesia skills (Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care)

· Possesses a positive work attitude

· Self-motivated

· Excellent communication and organization skills

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $20 – $26 / hour (non-credentialed) or $26 -- $34 / hour (credentialed). The actual compensation will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
