Full time and part time · 12-hour shifts · Every other weekend

About the role

You run the medication pass for your building and you lead the PCAs working with you. Residents depend on their medications being right and on time, and the aides on your shift depend on you to lead.

Spicewood Cottages is a small community of four buildings: The Elms (our memory care unit) and The Oaks, The Willows and The Meadows (assisted living). You will know every resident, every medication and every change in condition.

Shifts

• Day: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Night: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
• Positions: Elms (Memory Care) Med Tech, or AL Float Med Tech covering The Oaks, The Willows and The Meadows

What your shift looks like

• Medication administration - passing medications and treatments accurately and on schedule, within your scope
• Documentation - every administration recorded before you move on
• Provider orders - new and changed orders received, carried out and documented promptly
• Cart and storage - secure, organized, accurate counts, ready for the next shift
• Supervision - directing the PCAs in your building and verifying rounds and resident checks
• Report - a complete handoff at the start and end of every shift
• Changes in condition - noticed, reported and documented

What we're looking for

• Current listing on the N.C. Medication Aide Registry for Adult Care Homes, or completion of a state-approved medication administration course and eligibility to be listed
• Six hours of medication-related continuing education annually, as required by state rule
• High school diploma or GED
• Accuracy and attention to detail - this is the core of the job
• Dependable attendance and on-time arrival
• Willing to work every other weekend and assigned holidays
• Comfortable directing and holding accountable the aides in your building
