Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic imaging for licensed practitioners. This role involves producing high-quality radiographic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic radiographic procedures, verifying patient history and documenting relevant information for clinical use.
• Prepare and instruct patients to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety during procedures.
• Operate radiography equipment and accessories to achieve optimal imaging results.
• Position patients appropriately to highlight anatomical areas of interest, considering patient comfort and ability.
• Immobilize patients when necessary to obtain accurate images.
• Determine and apply correct radiographic exposure techniques.
• Implement radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Assess image quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
• Attend to patients' physical and psychological needs throughout procedures.
• Practice aseptic techniques as required.
• Perform venipunctures and prepare, identify, and administer contrast media as prescribed.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures, including non-interpretive fluoroscopy.
• May perform catheter anchoring and initiate basic life support when necessary.
• Provide patient education regarding tests and procedures.
• Maintain assigned work areas, report equipment issues, and manage supply restocking.
• Offer practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives within the department.
• Adhere to established standards and policies.
• May participate in on-call duties to provide technical support or shift coverage as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency is necessary.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Certified by the relevant state authority.
• Graduate from an accredited Radiography program with an active student license at start date.
• Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.
