About the role:

Anthropic is seeking a Compensation Programs Specialist to join our People team. In this role, you'll be the operational backbone of our compensation programs — coordinating and executing the processes that keep our pay programs running smoothly and on time. You'll work closely with Compensation Partners, People Partners, Finance, and Recruiting to ensure compensation workflows are delivered accurately and consistently across the organization. Responsibilities:

• Own the administration of our non-cyclical compensation programs end-to-end, including processing submissions, coordinating approvals, and ensuring timely and accurate processing in partnership with People Partners, People Operations, and Payroll

• Support bi-annual compensation cycles including data audits, cash, equity, and peer group reviews, and survey submissions

• Coordinate with Recruiting Operations and Equity Administrators to ensure equity grants are processed in accordance with our policies

• Maintain and improve compensation resources for the business and team, including our compensation hub, playbooks, compensation tables, and job architecture, ensuring guidance is current and accurate

• Identify and flag process gaps or inconsistencies, and partner with the broader compensation team to improve operational workflows

• Partner with the Compensation Partners team on program design workstreams

Minimum Qualifications:

• Are highly organized and able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with competing deadlines

• Have exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

• Have proficient Excel/Google Sheets skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling

• Communicate clearly and proactively, keeping stakeholders informed and unblocked

• Are a collaborative partner who enjoys working across People, Finance, Legal, and business teams

• Thrive in fast-moving environments and are energized by building reliable, repeatable processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have 4 + years of experience in compensation, total rewards, people operations, or a closely related field

• Have experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) or compensation administration tools (e.g., Shareworks/Carta)

• Have familiarity with equity compensation programs and related administration

• Be familiar with compensation data providers (e.g., Radford/Aon, Mercer)

• Strong collaboration and program management skills

• Be interested in Anthropic's mission and the unique compensation challenges that come with building at the frontier of AI

The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.

For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

Annual Salary:

$140,000—$140,000 USD

Logistics

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience

Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
