Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (8-hour Days, weekends, holidays, and on-call required)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

We are seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a surgical setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of nursing principles and possess strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Current New York State RN license
BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
Experience in preceptorship, charge, and leadership roles is preferred

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in the operating room
Assess patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs
Recognize safety issues for self and patients, implementing appropriate protocols
Utilize proper equipment for lifting and transferring patients safely
Effectively manage stressful situations and apply problem-solving skills
Prioritize and delegate tasks within the team
Assume responsibilities as a charge nurse when required
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Interpret lethal dysrhythmias accurately

Skills

Proficiency in the use of clinical equipment in a surgical setting
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
