Class E driver license required. Foreign‑trained graduates must provide a credential evaluation from an approved agency. In the United States, education must be verified before appointment. Additional Requirements Incumbent must comply with the Department’s Standards of Conduct and all applicable rules and policies. Frequent travel required. Job Duties This professional, team‑oriented intermediate level position supports the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Best Management Practices (BMP) program under the Florida Watershed Restoration Act. Duties include: Conduct BMP enrollments with agricultural producers using commodity‑specific manuals, checklists, and tools per the Enrollment Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Perform on‑site field evaluations to identify and implement applicable BMPs and conservation practices. Communicate producers’ obligations under the BMP program as defined by Florida statutes and rules. Identify projects and practices eligible for cost share and implementation. Assist with 2‑year Implementation Verification (IV) site visits to confirm compliance and update enrollment records. Analyze fertilizer records for compliance with UF‑IFAS nutrient application rates and collect producer nutrient data. Help producers submit cost‑share applications, manage agreements, verify implementation, and request reimbursements. Provide information to Soil and Water Conservation Districts, resource conservation and development districts, UF‑IFAS technical assistance, regulatory benefits, and research and demonstration groups. Participate in meetings, workshops, field days, and distribution of printed and electronic materials. Perform additional work as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Access digital information and prepare documents using computer and internet tools, including GIS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Outlook scheduling. Understand agricultural practices and BMPs related to nutrient management, irrigation management, and water resource protection. Interact with the public in a tactful and courteous manner. Communicate verbally and in writing. Plan, organize, coordinate, and complete assignments independently and on time. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
