PRODUCTION MANAGER I

Essential Functions:To actively lead the team to ensure that team targets and objectives are met in all aspects of its business, while promoting and monitoring the process of continuous improvementTo provide, as practicably as possible, a safe and healthy working environment implementing improvement programs to eliminate any work-related injuriesTo create and promote a healthy working relationship, improving the operation of the team and its relationship with both internal and external customersTo monitor and evaluate costs, quality and service, identifying areas for improvement programs to eliminate waste. This will normally be achieved through:The use of problem-solving techniquesThe evaluation of team results compared to budget and objectivesThe on-going monitoring of team’s performanceTo define priorities, in conjunction with team members, setting objectives and devising improvement plans in order that results meet or exceed expectations; together with the team and planning functions, ensure and guarantee the total satisfaction of all customers, both internal and externalTo assist team members of other teams (possibly outside the group)To achieve effective and efficient use of resourcesTo assist in defining the training and development needs of all team membersTo ensure, through a cascade method, that the communications operate effectively both within the team and where there is an impact elsewhere within the organizationTo determine any necessary investment within the team area, and prepares the justification for capital expendituresTo act as a line between suppliers (internal/external) to ensure that the team operates in an efficient and productive mannerManage direct report’s attendance and vacations using ERS & UltiProAdherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and PrinciplesOther duties as assigned by managerTop 3 Competencies Needed for Success in the Role: Innovation & Change: Effectively manages the change process to ensure that the organization remains effective throughout.Strategic Thinking: Develops strategic plans for their part of the business by setting short and long-term goals and objectives.Decision Making: Takes appropriate actions to minimize risks and maximize the opportunities in decision-making process.
