Construction Estimator (Marine Projects) – Lead High-End Waterfront and Outdoor Service Builds

Job Overview

• Company: Lancaster’s Custom Dock & Lift Systems, Inc.
• Salary/Pay Rate: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00/year (based on experience).
• Location: Troutman, NC (Lake Norman area).
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday.
• Project Scope: High-End Outdoor & Waterfront Construction.
• Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity You will serve as a technical anchor for preconstruction, transforming complex architectural visions into precise, actionable financial blueprints for elite waterfront structures. This role offers the autonomy to drive the bidding process for a regional leader while receiving specialized mentorship in unique marine construction methodologies.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Formulate comprehensive cost estimates for high-end docks, decks, and shoreline structures to ensure project profitability.
• Execute precise quantity take-offs from detailed plans and specifications to minimize material waste.
• Analyze blueprints and technical drawings to define project scopes and identify potential structural hurdles.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to maintain competitive pricing and high-quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and field leadership to ensure seamless handoffs from bid to build.
• Identify strategic cost-saving opportunities and project risks during the initial preconstruction phase.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of pricing trends and historical data to refine future bidding accuracy.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a closely related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and structural drawings.
• Advanced technical skills in Excel and standard construction estimating or project management software.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bidding deadlines simultaneously with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills necessary for negotiating with vendors and presenting to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Background in civil, structural, or specialized outdoor construction environments.
• Previous experience navigating permitting processes for regulated construction sites.
• Familiarity with take-off software and advanced preconstruction workflows.
