Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurses!

Job Description:


- Shift Details:
- Night shifts: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- 3x12 hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week
- Holiday rotation required
- Minimal call duty as needed

- Location Requirements:
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (based on driver's license)
- Local candidates will not be considered

- Employee Separation Policy:
- Past employees of UPH are not eligible for travel assignments in other markets for 12 months if they previously worked in a travel capacity.

- Training and Orientation:
- Orientation dates include: 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, 12/7
- Sooner starts will be prioritized

- Key Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to float to NICU, General Pediatrics, and ED as needed
- Provide care for critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Participate in the Pediatric Transport Team to help deliver expert care to children across the state

- Qualifications:
- Minimum of 24 months of current PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
- Must possess active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate at the time of submission
- Current PALS (AHA) certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Experience with ventilators and high flow oxygen preferred
- Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and feeding pumps preferred

- Submission Requirements:
- Resume/work history reflecting required experience
- Skills checklist specific to PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the last 24 months
