What You'll Do Represent financial institutions, businesses, creditors, and other clients in bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters. Handle contested hearings, motion practice, pleadings, and legal research in both state and federal courts. Assist with commercial litigation matters related to insolvency, collections, and business disputes. Develop litigation strategy and manage cases from inception through resolution. Communicate directly with clients while providing practical, business-focused legal advice. Collaborate with experienced attorneys on complex legal matters while taking on increasing responsibility. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active Connecticut Bar admission, or ability to become licensed promptly. Approximately 3-5 years of experience in bankruptcy, creditors' rights, or commercial litigation. Candidates with a commercial litigation background and a genuine interest in developing a bankruptcy practice are encouraged to apply. Strong legal research, analytical writing, and oral advocacy skills. Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
