Description:

We have need of senior Linux System Administration support, with skills in the following areas:

RedHat/CentOS & Ubuntu system administration
Major and minor OS upgrade
Scripting languages, including bash and Python
Ansible automation
Git repository management
VMware/deployment methods
Physical server maintenance, include iDRAC
Implementing system security best practices
Authentication protocols/methods including KRB, SSSD, A/D, LDAP
Proficient written and verbal communication

Contractor Tasks:

Individual Systems Update (100+ Systems)
Security: uninstall FireEye HX agent, install/configure M.S. Defender, review/implement 3rd party recommendations
Scheduled jobs analysis
Validate/analyze boot files (inittab, systemd, rc.x)
Compare /home to passwd file
Review/convert chronyd configurations
Migrate Ubuntu Desktops to current version (10 Systems)
Upgrade/migrate Linux servers to latest OS (10 Systems)
Ansible bash-to-yaml conversion
Review/Improve logging (syslog-ng)
Review A/D integration (Kerberos with SSSD; LDAPS; OUs)
Replace SSL Certificates (20 Systems)

Required/Desired Skills:

RedHat/CentOS & Ubuntu system administration - Required - 5 Years
Major and minor OS upgrade - Required - 5 Years
Scripting languages, including bash and Python - Required - 5 Years
Ansible automation - Required - 5 Years
Git repository management - Required - 5 Years
VMware/deployment methods - Required - 5 Years
