Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma ( and Level II pediatric trauma ( designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Beaumont doctors on faculty.

Scope of Work

The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) uses ophthalmic techniques to perform preliminary work-ups for patients of the Beaumont Eye Institute physicians. Coordinates patient appointments with BEI clerical staff and assists in genereal clinic support for the Eye Clinic and Low Vision Department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (required)

• Clinical setting, Medical office, Refractive surgical suite, Medical lasers and minor procedure room. (preferred)

• Minor lifting, walking, bending, standing for refractive surgery.

• Technical & Surgical Skills.

• Certified refractive surgical LASIK assistant.

• Surgical Boarding.

• JCAHPO Certification (required)

• 6 months experience as COA (preferred)
