Fall 2026 Undergraduate Intern, Social Media & Store- Communications and Marketing Department

Position: Undergraduate Social Media & Store Intern ACLU Communications and Marketing Department, National office – New York, NY (remote or hybrid). Qualified applicants must be current undergraduate students or equivalent, and be based in the U.S. for the entire internship. The Team The Communications department creates, maintains, and expands message narratives to engage supporters and other audiences to protect civil liberties. Through messaging, engagement with newsmakers, written content, creative branding, and visual identity, we encourage support for the ACLU. What You’ll Do As the social & store intern you will help run the store efficiently, profitably, and cost‑effectively, welcoming new merchandise and marketing ideas. You will assist the social media team in researching, producing, scheduling, and measuring content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Bluesky, Threads, and emerging platforms. Your Day to Day Regular online store updates: product photography, page setup, copywriting, digital marketing support, and more. Apply research on industry trends to brainstorm new products, merchandise strategies, and promotional campaigns. Collect and analyze budget, inventory, and sales data using Excel. Social media copywriting. Social media metrics: support metrics reporting and data analysis. Produce social media content, including scripting, on‑screen appearances, and TikTok production. What You’ll Bring Previous e‑commerce experience for a major brand or retailer. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfortable analyzing data. Experience using social media for professional, academic, or extracurricular purposes. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong computer skills, especially web‑based research and Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and excellent written communication skills. Time Commitment: Fall internships can be part‑time (10, 15, 20 hrs/wk) or full‑time (35 hrs/wk). Internship Duration: Part‑time: 12 consecutive weeks; full‑time: 10 consecutive weeks. Start dates: September 8th or September 21st. Stipend: A stipend is available for students authorized to work. Stipend rates: $20/hr for undergraduate students or equivalent experience. Academic Requirement This internship must be tied to the intern’s formal education program by integrated coursework or receipt of academic credit.
