Pay Rate: $18.30 - $19.30 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors at a utility location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorization, and visitor documentation before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Maintain accurate access-control logs, issue and recover visitor badges or credentials, and report discrepancies according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, buildings, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
