Finance SpecialistThe Accounts Payable Specialist ensures the accurate and timely processing of vendor payments while maintaining strong financial controls and positive vendor relationships. This role reviews and processes invoices and payment requests, reconciles accounts, resolves payment discrepancies, and ensures financial obligations are met. Serving as a primary point of contact for vendors, the specialist responds to inquiries, researches payment issues, and maintains accurate financial records to support compliance, fiscal accountability, and efficient business operations. Through strong attention to detail and effective communication, this position helps ensure smooth financial operations and timely payment processing.Proficient use of computers and data entryReviews invoices for accuracy prior to processingProcesses invoices on a timely basis as receivedManual entry of Account Payable spreadsheets and invoices into computer systemProvides customer service via phone and email to operations and vendorsScans invoices electronically into computer imaging systemReviews Oracle for outstanding invoices and resubmits invoices for paymentProcesses and research daily Account Payable/payroll mail and distributeEnsures AP integrity through audit reports, data analysis, and collaboration with other team membersMaintains AP operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changesPerforms other duties as assignedGeneral Education Diploma or High School Diploma requiredAssociates degree or Technical Training, preferredRelevant work experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping, preferredStrong personal computer skills, including Excel and MS Office tools, spreadsheet, and database usageAbility to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environmentStrong analytical and problem resolution skills with high attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracyAbility to multi-taskKnowledge of current industry trends, standards, and practices in the areas of economic and accounting principlesAbility to effectively and professionally communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel internal and external to the companyCapability of working responsibly with highly confidential information and of maintaining composure under duressExercises independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work according to applicable regulations, company policies and proceduresMust be proficient in use of office equipment including, but not limited to telephone, computer, calculator, or copierStrong customer service orientationProven analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentStrong interpersonal and oral communication skillsAdept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manualsAbility to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as requiredAbility to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly languageHighly self-motivated and directedKeen attention to detailAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Equus Workforce Solutions is a leading provider of workforce development services in North America.
