We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to become an integral part of our School Mental Health Team at a respected private school in Barre, Vermont. This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexible work arrangements that suit your professional and personal needs. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening hours and rotating weekends as necessary to cover critical mental health services. You will operate in a dynamic and collaborative virtual setting, working closely with other healthcare providers and educators via telehealth platforms and digital communication tools.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments by gathering comprehensive data regarding students’ personal histories, presenting concerns, and risk factors, ensuring a holistic view of their mental health.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with students and families, focusing on improving emotional well-being and enhancing successful navigation within the school community.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address a spectrum of mental health conditions and promote resilience.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that empower students to develop coping strategies, enhance emotional regulation, and foster personal growth.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to coordinate care, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student mental health.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention, employing de-escalation strategies to address urgent mental health situations and make appropriate referrals to higher levels of care when needed.

• Deliver psychoeducation to students and families, equipping them with knowledge about mental health conditions and available resources, thereby enhancing community engagement.

• Maintain meticulous documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage actively in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development initiatives to further enrich your practice and support collaborative growth within the department.

The primary focus of this role is the diverse student population at our private school. You will work closely with students of varying ages and backgrounds, addressing a multitude of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. The aim is to provide compassionate and targeted interventions that enable students to prosper academically and personally.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid LICSW license in the state of Vermont.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, with preference given to candidates who have worked in mental health or educational settings.

• In-depth understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment models, and trauma-informed care approaches.
\n
• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, diagnosing conditions, and creating effective treatment plans.
\n
• Demonstrated experience delivering individual and group therapy.
\n
• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students and families from diverse backgrounds.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.

While the minimum requirement is two years of post-licensure experience, candidates with additional experience in school-based settings or trauma-informed care will be considered highly valuable. Familiarity with therapeutic interventions tailored for youth will also enhance your candidacy.
