As a Shipping Coordinator you will be an important part of the Steel Technologies team and critical to meeting our customer demands. You’re more than a shipping coordinator, you’re an ensuring the materials are all correct after they arrive at the customer's. Ultimately, you play an important role at Steel Technologies.

The schedule for this position in Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm

How you'll contribute to our company:

• Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy
• Ensure complete shipments, oldest items first
• Check and match tags to bills after bills are signed
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport material
• Communicate with sales, customers, truck drivers, and supervisor to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, late delivery, or nonconformance to specifications
• Assist scale operator when needed
• Clean and maintain housekeeping of shipping office

Here's what is needed to be successful:

• Knowledge of raw materials and shipping/receiving processes
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
• Knowledge of basic computer functions and ability to accurately input data into Invex system
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic
• Ability to read and understand material tags and production instructions
• Ability to accurately use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to routinely bend and squat
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
