Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift - 3x12.0

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while upholding the core values of the organization, which prioritize patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and set goals related to each patient's diagnosis, collaborating with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit, utilizing the nursing process for care delivery.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent patient status changes to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, while organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital and nursing policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning through calm direction to staff, patients, and families.
• Monitor necessary supplies and equipment, communicating needs to management.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific facility requirement).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
