Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Sr Software Test Engineer (Cybersecurity) to join our Coronary Therapies R&D team, working on innovative products that sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world. Join a fast-growing, talented team as we invest in a best-in-class software product using best-in-class software practices. In this role, you will also help lead a team of six.

The successful candidate will participate in medical device software verification and validation in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Testing medical device applications requires rigor and attention to detail to meet industry and regulatory standards. We are looking for a motivated and creative software application test engineer with a strong focus on quality and expertise in requirements-based software test automation.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Arbor Lakes – Maple Grove, Minnesota, office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:

• Oversee the planning, design and execution of test strategies to ensure alignment with project goals and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate and prioritize test activities across projects while facilitating communication among cross-functional teams regarding objectives, timelines and deliverables.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced test engineers, supporting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Develop, track and present test metrics, progress updates and quality reports to senior management.
• Lead root cause analysis of test failures, coordinate resolutions and support continuous improvement through the evaluation of new tools and best practices.
• Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements and compliance with applicable industry standards, and represent the test team in meetings, audits and reviews.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of five years’ relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, or minimum of three years’ relevant professional experience with a master’s degree, demonstrating consistent delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Minimum of three years’ hands-on test automation experience, including designing, developing and executing automated test suites to improve efficiency.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, with the ability to architect scalable frameworks, optimize code for performance and mentor others on best practices.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including leading cross-functional teams, driving complex projects to completion, mentoring others and influencing technical direction to achieve measurable outcomes.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) and Gherkin.
• Ability to design test infrastructure and select appropriate tools.
• Experience with Windows services, desktop applications, environment setup and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Jira, Jama Connect, Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, PowerShell and Python.
• Experience with medical device software in Agile environments, including IEC 62304 and IEC 60601 compliance.
• Knowledge of secure software development life cycle (SSDLC), DevSecOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and automated security regression testing.
• Hands-on testing experience with C#, C++, MQTT, networking, secure communications and cloud-connected systems.
• Experience developing cybersecurity verification and validation (V&V) strategies, test cases, automation frameworks and audit-ready evidence.
• Ability to derive negative and abuse-case tests from threat models, use cases and security risk controls.
• Experience with fuzzing and security tools, including static application security testing (SAST), dynamic application security testing (DAST), interactive application security testing (IAST), Burp Suite, OpenSSL, Wireshark, Nmap, ZAP, Postman, Defensics and Kali Linux.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Security certification such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN).

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
