About This Role The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical Suite at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is responsible for providing immediate and long-term nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to departmental standards. This role is ideal for experienced nurses with a strong background in operating room procedures, particularly in ophthalmology. Highlights Pay: $41.72 - $105.65/Hourly Location: Boston, MA Facility: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Department/Unit: Surgical Suite Schedule: Part-Time, Rotating What You’ll Do Function as both scrub and circulating nurse for ophthalmic surgical procedures. Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies. Ensure adherence to sterile technique and proper infection control protocols. Monitor and support patients throughout the intraoperative phase. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and fellow nurses. Document all intraoperative care and nursing interventions accurately. Participate in room turnover and preparation between cases. Adhere to all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines. Requirements Education: Other Certificate/Diploma in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience, including both scrub and circulate roles—ophthalmology experience strongly preferred.
