Housekeeping Supervisor

SUMMARY Directly supervises employees in the Housekeeping department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures and applicable law. Manages other team members and is responsible for meeting or surpassing all departmental goals and objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assigns duties and shifts to staff and monitors job performances. Sets and monitors cleaning standards for guest rooms and public areas. Provides daily workloads and creates assignments for room attendants. Conducts daily inspections of hotel rooms and related areas to ensure the set quality of standards are maintained. Inspects guest rooms and public areas for standards compliance. Cooperates with the Executive Housekeeper to coordinate activities and efforts. Assists the Executive Housekeeper with inventory items controlled by the housekeeping department. Informs the Assistant Executive Housekeeper or Executive Housekeeper of supplies needed so that all room attendants can perform their required job functions efficiently. Assists in the direct training of new team members. Completes all pertinent information reports and forecasts as needed. Issues uniforms and linens when needed. Maintains open communication with Management and attends all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings promptly. Ensures all employees comply with BlueWater Resort & Casino rules and regulations, as well as Federal, State, and Tribal laws. Works in a safe manner in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards. Performs all other duties as assigned (non‑gaming functions and those related to the issued gaming license). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations. Ability to solve hotel‑related problems. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deal patiently with guest complaints and remain courteous with difficult or aggravated people. Ability to multi‑task and stay organized. Clear and pleasant speaking voice and fluency in English. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Three years in a hotel housekeeping department, with at least one year at a supervisory level; relevant experience may substitute. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours without sitting). Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. WORK ENVIRONMENT Fast‑paced work environment with many variables contributing to daily challenges. Involves working in close quarters with other staff members and hotel/resort guests.
