Position Overview The Medicare Sales Representative II provides greater access to health insurance by educating and assisting Medicare individuals. The representative distributes health education materials, arranges health screenings, facilitates enrollment, continues coverage, and assists with recertification. Work Shifts 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Duties & Responsibilities Identify prospective enrollees and determine eligibility for participation in MetroPlus Health 's Medicare product. Understand and apply all policies and procedures pertaining to: Disclosures and provisions of the MetroPlus Health Medicare product. Enrollment and disenrollment. Conduct home visits and personalized appointments as needed to complete the enrollment process. Market MetroPlus Health Medicare line of business on‑site at hospitals, senior centers, assisted living facilities, community events and other designated sites. Understand the covered benefits, non‑covered benefits, exclusions, and exemptions. Educate enrollees on all aspects of the Plan, and answer questions regarding its features and benefits. Keep informed and adhere to current marketing activity guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies, providing enrollees with all required materials and documentation. Complete applications and field reports such as Presumptive Eligibility reports and personnel forms (time sheets, expense reports, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner. Work closely with Outreach representatives, Customer Service representatives, Eligibility representatives, and other MetroPlus Health personnel to resolve member concerns regarding complaints and potential enrollments or disenrollments. Establish and maintain positive relationships with facility and site staff, community and provider organizations, and City and State regulatory agencies. Assist members in accessing health care, transportation needs and other services or issues as they arise. Participate in telemarketing/outreach efforts as required. Provide detailed reports of production and outreach activities. Develop a presence in the local community to help generate enrollments. Create and deliver presentations to large groups of seniors. Complete Annual Medicare Training. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid Life/Accident/Health Insurance Agent License issued by the New York State Insurance Department. Possession of a high school diploma or evidence of successful completion of a high‑school equivalency program. Satisfactory completion of training and orientation administered by MHP personnel. One year of experience in direct consumer contact, sales and/or social services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge of a second language may be required. For appointment to Level II: one year of experience in Assignment Level I or an additional year of experience as described above. For appointment to Level III: one year of experience in Assignment Level II or two additional years of experience as described above. Special Notes: Possession of a valid Life/Accident/Health Insurance Agent License issued by the New York State Insurance Department must be maintained to remain in this position. A valid New York State Driver’s License may be required. The position is restricted to MetroPlus only.
