Sample Dispatch Manager

Opportunity Oversees the day‑to‑day operations of a team of inventory and/or material management associates at customer facilities, ensuring operational objectives are met through effective supervision and prioritization of tasks. Sets daily goals and reviews team performance to align with broader operational plans and achieve desired results. Identifies opportunities for improvement, makes adjustments to workflows, and recommends enhancements to work methods to increase efficiency and the effectiveness of inventory and materials management services provided to customers. Focuses on addressing operational problems and issues, requiring analysis of data and relevant factors to develop practical solutions. Communicates regularly with internal team members and stakeholders, as well as external contacts such as vendors, to ensure smooth operations, foster collaboration, and address the needs of all parties involved. In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission‑based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Location: Provides dual‑site coverage for operations in King of Prussia and Collegeville, PA Shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 base salary + up to 5% annual bonus Benefits Health & Wellness Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage Wellness programs Eligible for medical coverage starting Day 1 Time Off Paid Time Off (PTO) Company‑paid holidays Choice holidays Financial Well‑Being Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) Commuter benefits 401(k) retirement plan Tuition assistance Employee Stock Purchase Plan discount Education High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education degree in supply chain, business, or life sciences preferred Experience 5–7 years of experience in laboratory services, warehouse, logistics, or inventory management operations 2–3 years of formal supervisory experience with direct reports and full performance management responsibility Documented experience leading operational improvement initiatives Experience in a client‑embedded services or regulated facility environment Technical Skills Proficiency with inventory management systems (SAP, Workday, LIMS, or equivalent), including reporting and analytics modules Intermediate Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup functions, and basic data analysis Ability to analyze operational data and communicate findings to non‑technical audiences Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) Additional Requirements Prior experience in a GMP‑regulated environment strongly preferred Excellent communication skills Valid driver’s license required Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods Ability to walk through customer facilities during site visits Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs (12 kg) Responsibilities Perform routine sample inventory operations, including sample receipt, registration, (re)labelling, tracking, dispatch, and disposal using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Provide data manifests and (re)label samples as applicable Track all work‑in‑progress using specialized informatics systems as well as databases, so that there is a common understanding of status at all times Perform all work in accordance with global standards, SOPs, Good Clinical Practice, and legal requirements Support a team and work collaboratively with project managers to ensure the efficient relay of information and communication of data Maintain a well‑developed understanding of the sample inventory and use a broader functional knowledge of the procedures to develop new processes or improve existing procedures within the department, where needed Assess and report data or issues, with little or no guidance, in a clear and concise manner Provide technical instruction to the team and allocate administrative work where possible Ensure compliance with global HBS standards and legal requirements We are an Equal Employment/Action employer and VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
