Job Title: Camp Counselor – Part Time, SeasonalReports To: Facilities ManagerFLSA Status: Non-exemptSummary: With passion and dedication to excellence, the Addams Park Activities Counselor will create a friendly, fun, and open environment while ensuring all safety procedures and protocols for children of all ages. A camp counselor will supervise, educate, and lead children of all ages through different outdoor and indoor recreational activities at camp.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Leads indoor and outdoor recreational and educational activities gearing them to the needs of various age groupsAssists in all activities, maintains a positive and inclusive approach with all assigned participantsPlans and assists in the daily preparation for the camp day; sets up a takes down equipment before and after summer camp activities occurAddresses behavioral issues when neededFacilitates and encourages participation in camp activitiesKnows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp programCommunicates clearly and effectively in written and verbal methods with supervisor, parents, and childrenInforms supervisor when in need of any equipment and/or resources for activitiesEnsures all safety procedures and protocols are being followed by all summer camp participantsAssists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance; attends camp counselor meetings when requiredSupervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-beingModels good behavior for campers as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and respectfulnessInteracts with parents in a professional and polite mannerReports camper and parent complaints to supervisor as requiredCompletes other tasks and duties as assignedProfessional Requirements:CPR CertifiedSelf-motivated, with excellent communication and customer service skillsPunctual, reliable, organized, and responsibleKeeps management informed of program and facility needsEnsures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered toAbility to lift and/or move up to 30 poundsGeneral mobility including but not limited to walking, kneeling, and standing for long period of timesSchedule:Camp Counselors are expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30AM – 3:30PM.This role is seasonal and expected to work from June 1st, 2026, to August 14th, 2026.All camp counselors will be required to attend training before camp starts.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
