What this job involves:

As a Consumables Management Technician at JLL, you will be an essential link in our laboratory services operations, supporting pharmaceutical research through expert management of procurement and supply chain activities. In this role, you'll oversee order fulfillment, vendor relationships, and inventory management for laboratory equipment, supplies, and chemicals in a regulated environment. You'll utilize various procurement systems to maintain optimal inventory levels and execute purchasing activities that keep research operations running smoothly. This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in laboratory services while contributing to the success of our pharmaceutical clients through meticulous attention to detail, proactive communication, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Manage centralized storerooms containing laboratory equipment, supplies, chemicals, and specialized materials, ensuring proper storage and containment

Process purchase orders through client and JLL procurement systems including Ariba, SAP, and Jaggaer to fulfill customer requisitions efficiently

Monitor and maintain inventory levels by placing requisitions to meet minimum/maximum thresholds established by stockroom management

Receive, verify, and inspect incoming supplies against specifications, documenting receipt and storing items in designated locations

Coordinate with customers and shipping departments to schedule inter-site and intra-site shipments of laboratory materials

Deliver materials, chemicals, and supplies directly to laboratories or designated points of use throughout the facility

Perform CTU (Clinical Trial Unit) cleanings as required, maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical standards and protocols-this is a significant component of the role

Communicate proactively with vendors, management, and customers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and fulfillment needs

Maintain accurate documentation including price listings, stock receipts, usage reports, inventory controls, and compliance records

Collect and report metrics as required by management to support operational visibility and continuous improvement

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience in ordering goods and services, particularly laboratory consumables or scientific supplies
• Experience working in a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, medical device, or Life Science industry
• Familiarity with procurement platforms including Ariba, SAP, and Jaggaer software systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication

Physical Qualifications:

Physical ability to lift and transport laboratory materials and supplies as needed

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
• Valid driver's license
• Commitment to working in a safe, high-performance, quality-driven environment with attention to detail
• Ability to comply with all safety standards, policies, and GXP documentation requirements in regulated areas
• Knowledge of chemical handling, storage requirements, and hazardous material protocols
• Experience with CTU cleaning procedures and protocols in pharmaceutical or clinical research environments
• Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support various Laboratory Services functions as directed
• Understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain best practices in laboratory settings

Estimated compensation for this position:

52,000.00 - 56,160.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
