Job Description
This role performs a wide range of construction and concrete labor tasks in a heavy industrial precast concrete environment. You will support the production and installation of precast concrete products by preparing, pouring, and finishing concrete, assisting with machinery, and completing general labor duties. The position involves heavy lifting, use of hand and power tools, and close collaboration with a team to safely meet production goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction labor tasks related to precast concrete production and installation.
- Prepare, pour, and finish concrete according to instructions and quality standards.
- Carry out general labor activities such as material handling, site cleanup, and basic maintenance.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials, tools, and equipment as part of daily work assignments, including team lifting when required.
- Assist machine operators throughout the production process to support efficient and safe operation.
- Operate or help operate machinery and equipment used in concrete and construction work under appropriate guidance and training.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for carpentry, concrete, and general construction tasks.
- Read and use tape measures accurately to support precise measurements, cutting, and layout work.
- Support carpentry-related tasks, including building, assembling, or installing forms and structures.
- Assist with landscaping-related duties as needed, including preparation or cleanup around work areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing regular cleaning and general labor duties.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with tools, machinery, and materials.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet production requirements.
- Work around heavy industrial forklifts and machinery rated from approximately 8,000 lbs to 36,000 lbs.
- Assist as a wire cage technician by supporting the wire cage machine and related processes.
- Participate on the tip-off crew by removing rings from pipe, cleaning, unloading, and stacking rings in an orderly manner.
- Support crane and material-handling operations as needed during long production shifts.
Essential Skills
- Experience in construction labor, including concrete and general construction tasks.
- Hands-on experience with concrete work, including preparing, pouring, and finishing concrete.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Mechanical aptitude to work around and assist with machinery such as wire cage equipment and heavy industrial forklifts.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for precise measurements.
- Basic carpentry skills, including building or assembling forms and simple structures.
- Comfort working in a heavy industrial and construction environment, both indoors and outdoors.
- Reliability and strong work ethic to support consistent production schedules.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in precast concrete production or installation is beneficial.
- Experience working around cranes and heavy equipment is an advantage.
- Prior experience as a general laborer, concrete finisher, or carpenter is preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial forklifts and large machinery is helpful.
- Ability to work long shifts, often 1012 hours, while maintaining focus and safety.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes, including wire cage machines and heavy equipment operations.
- Interest in growing into supervisory roles or heavy equipment operating positions over time.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
