Medical AssistantProvide compassionate care to pediatric patients in a pediatric neurology office. This role involves updating patient information, assisting with a daily patient load of approximately 25 patients shared between two medical assistants, and handling heavy documentation responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesConduct patient intakes and room loadingPerform vital checks and medication reconciliationPrepare charts prior to patient visitsPrepare orthopedic injections for the doctor to administerPrepare patient rooms and complete prior authorizationsReview MRI reportsRestock rooms and supply closets, and complete inventoryTriage phone calls for any physician or patient questionsUpdate patient records and electronic medical records using AthenaMay cross train in spine, pain management, and orthopedicsEssential SkillsMedical assisting experiencePatient care skillsPediatric experienceAt least one year of medical assistant experienceEMR experience (Athena preferred, other EMR systems acceptable)Good documentation skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred but not requiredAccredited diploma from a medical assistant schoolExperience in pediatric and/or outpatient settingsStrong organizational skillsPatient, detail-oriented, and eager to learnWork EnvironmentThe position supports two offices. The primary location is in the person office at 315 E. Northfield Road, Floor 1, NJ, with twice weekly visits to Building B, Warren, NJ. The office may move to Florham Park in the future. The shift is Monday to Friday, with specific hours: Monday 9-7, Tuesday 9-6, Wednesday 9-7, Thursday 9-5, and Friday 9-2. The candidate must be flexible to stay until the last patient is seen. The work involves handling pediatric patients with conditions such as ADHD, migraines, autism, and nerve issues. The office environment is small and collaborative, with opportunities for independent work and long-term employment.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
