Job Description:

The Training and Retention Lead is responsible for training and compliance, staffing plan development, and employee retention for Hub and/or Preload operations.

Important Requirement:

• This position can only be filled by a former employee with positive rehire status or a retiree referred by the Hiring Manager.

• Must be willing to travel using a personal vehicle to/from company facilities as needed. Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed according to company policy.

Job Duties:

• Assist in training new employees.

• Assist with the onboarding process and ensure all training packets are complete.

• Plan and coordinate weekly retention activities.

• Develop staffing, hiring, training compliance, retention, and career development plans.

• Conduct effective meetings and promote collaboration and open discussion.

• Analyze and forecast training costs to remain within the established budget.

• Schedule department meetings, conferences, and training sessions.

• Analyze trend data to develop hiring schedule projections.

• Conduct training attendance, agenda adherence, and graduated workload audits.

• Ensure proper administration of the New Employee Orientation Program.

• Lead facilitator workshops and support facilitator development.

• Conduct training calendar audits to ensure employee orientation training is completed on time.

• Oversee training and development of supervisors.

• Conduct employee focus groups to improve job satisfaction and retention.

• Monitor employee recognition programs.

• Participate in employee retention committee meetings and help address retention issues.

• Develop and implement plans to maintain staffing objectives.

• Communicate with supervisors regarding daily activities impacting training and compliance.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Former employee with positive rehire status or retiree referred by the Hiring Manager.

• Experience with dispatch, preload training, or ground transportation training.

• Knowledge of Hub processes, procedures, and methods.

• Understanding of safety, quality, and operational performance requirements.

• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and technology used to sort and load packages/shipments.

• Package Dispatch and Helper Tracker proficiency preferred.

• Preload Operations knowledge preferred.

• Ground Transportation knowledge preferred.

• Labor Relations knowledge preferred.

• Advanced/Intermediate Microsoft Access and Excel skills preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent preferred.

• Must be willing to travel using a personal vehicle when required.

• Strong communication, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
