Head of Strategic Finance
Benchling
Benchling seeks a Head of Strategic Finance to lead financial planning, modeling, and strategic decision-making for an AI-powered biotech platform. The role requires partnering with executive leadership to translate company strategy into financial plans and provide analytical insights on capital allocation and business performance.
Responsibilities
- Own annual planning, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes reporting to CFO
- Evaluate company priorities, investment choices, and capital allocation tradeoffs with executive team
- Build financial models and business cases for strategic initiatives including products, pricing, and expansion
- Create executive and board reporting that translates data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Lead and develop a high-performing strategic finance team
Requirements
- Significant strategic finance or FP&A leadership experience in enterprise software
- Deep understanding of SaaS business models, metrics, and growth drivers
- Experience building financial models and evaluating strategic investments
- Strong analytical and presentation skills for executive and board audiences
- Ability to manage cross-functional partnerships across finance and operations
- Experience leading and scaling finance teams
