Regional VP, Building Materials & Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the distribution centers of the area. Lead a market in district sales and production. Manage overall sales (professional and retail), operations, production, delivery, purchasing, install and inventory control. Ensure daily operations of each location are effectively managed by the Market or General Manager. Oversee development and implementation of purchasing and inventory control programs to meet inventory levels and turns. Direct and coordinate promotion of products or services to develop new markets, increase market share and obtain a competitive position in the industry. Motivate employees, maintain a productive workforce and train successor management. Recommend capital improvements and institute a cost‑effective vehicle and equipment maintenance program. Support and reinforce company safety initiatives to meet all OSHA and DOT requirements. Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures to Market and General Managers. Responsible for budget accountability and reporting; establish standard cost, operating budgets and acceptable inventory levels; monitor expenses and create new methods to improve financial performance. Represent and promote the Company at industry, manufacturing or trade associations. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage subordinate supervisors across various departments; oversee direction, coordination and evaluation of units. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, appraising, rewarding, disciplining employees, and resolving complaints.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university. Seven to ten years of related managerial experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in the building materials industry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Physical demands: Frequent standing, walking and sitting; occasional talking and hearing. Exposed occasionally to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather. Noise level typically moderate.
