This position will be part of the TEGNA corporate team with company-wide responsibility but will be physically located at our NBC Affiliate in Indianapolis, WTHR.The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for the daily application and reconciliation of payment receipts in a high-volume, centralized team with various payment sources - bank lockbox, electronic payments, and credit card payments utilizing imported files for auto-application and actions taken on exceptions.Additional Responsibilities Include:Seek assistance from station personnel when needed for accurate payment posting.Reconcile and apply pre-payments to subsequent invoices for Paid Programming accounts.Research payment posting errors and resolve.Post all entries to accounts receivable system (WideOrbit) including invoice adjustments, write-offs, transfers, refunds, and NSFs.Collaborate and foster effective communication with team members and other departments.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED2 years of experience applying payments to customer accounts in a high-volume environment with payments from various sourcesVery detailed oriented and accurate - excellent with keyboard/mouse data entry/selectionKeen abilities to decipher payment remittance documentsComfortable in a team environment where team support is a mustAbility to quickly learn new software and processesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProfessionalism and strong work ethic as daily work must be completedPreferred QualificationsTwo or four-year degree4 or more years of experienceExperience with electronic bank file import of payments from LockboxExperience with payments made by entities different from the account name in accounts receivableModerate to Intermediate Excel skillsBroadcast Industry and traffic software experienceWide Orbit software experienceBenefits:TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
