Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Indirect Buyer, Strategic Purchasing to support procurement of indirect materials and services across the Americas. The role will collaborate with facility leaders and operate within global Strategic Purchasing procedures to source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for construction, facilities, MRO, and site professional services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in indirect procurement, contract management, SAP, and advanced Excel and a proven ability to drive cost savings, resolve supplier issues, and standardize processes.

Responsibilities:

• Process purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents for MRO goods and services in line with global compliance policies.
• Develop sourcing lists, monitor supplier performance, and benchmark competition.
• Resolve pricing, invoicing, and contract issues with suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and annual contracts, with emphasis on services and goods for Mankato, MN operations.
• Analyze supplier cost and pricing data to support sourcing decisions.
• Manage purchase requisition and vendor invoice queues.
• Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Identify, drive, and support cost savings initiatives.
• Support standardized process implementation using common forms, measures, and structure.
• Perform special projects as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Materials Management, Finance, Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field and 5+ years in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain; or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years handling confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
• Indirect procurement experience focused on services and contract management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong financial and cost analysis capability with problem-solving skills for complex issues.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel; strong PC skills across MS Office Suite.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents and learn supplier commodity processes.
• Self-starter able to work independently with minimal direction; strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Ability to travel 10–15% to supplier sites and facilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Construction, site professional services, facilities management, machines, and heavy-duty manufacturing equipment sourcing.
• Experience developing and executing contracts and service level agreements.
• Project management experience.

Work Conditions:

• Office and general manufacturing environments, onsite Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.
• Regular computer use; occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions and occasional noise.
• Occasional standing, walking, stooping, crouching, reaching; occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of 10–25 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements include close and distance vision and color perception.
