Substitute Preschool Teacher

As a substitute teacher for preschool, you are responsible for providing instruction, care and managing classroom environments in the absence of the regular teacher. Reports To Preschool Director Responsibilities To provide as closely as possible the same successful support that would exist if the regularly appointed teacher were in attendance Establish and maintain efficient classroom management procedures and standards of student behavior. Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators Ensure the safety of students at all times Maintain established routines/schedules and procedures of the school and classroom to which the substitute is assigned Leave notes for the regular teacher at the end of the teaching day. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned by the Preschool Director or lead teacher. Requirements Teaching experience preferred High School Diploma required Punctuality and dependability Flexibility in the job assignment Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Note that the specific duties, responsibilities, and hours of a substitute teacher may vary depending on the classroom. Physical Requirements Ability to sit on the floor, bend, and engage in physical activities with children. Capability to lift up to 25 pounds, as needed.
