Small Animal Veterinarian, Not-for-Profit Hospital, near Hardeeville, SC, Base Salary up to $150,000, 30-Minute Client Appointments, No Weekends A brilliant new career opportunity has become available for an Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to join a well-established, not-for-profit veterinary organisation serving pets and families throughout the local community. This is an opportunity to join a practice with a strong commitment to accessible, compassionate veterinary care, where the focus extends beyond individual patient treatment to supporting the wider health and welfare of companion animals. The organisation also works closely with an established animal welfare and rescue programme, creating an environment where veterinarians can make a meaningful difference to both owned pets and animals in need. The hospital is committed to practising exceptional medicine while giving its Doctors excellent clinical autonomy and maintaining a manageable, well-structured caseload. Appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, allowing clinicians sufficient time to assess patients thoroughly, discuss treatment options with clients, and develop appropriate care plans without the pressure of an overly compressed consultation schedule. You'll be joining a friendly, experienced, and collaborative team of Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) who are passionate about supporting one another and creating a positive working environment. The role offers a particularly attractive work-life balance, with no weekend responsibilities, making it well suited to a veterinarian looking for a rewarding clinical position alongside a predictable schedule. Key Duties As an Associate Veterinarian, you will become an integral part of a compassionate and dedicated clinical team, providing high-quality preventative, medical, surgical, and dental care to canine and feline patients. Responsibilities include:
• Diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of medical conditions in companion animals.
• Conducting comprehensive wellness examinations and developing preventative healthcare plans tailored to individual patients.
• Delivering high standards of patient welfare, with a strong focus on compassionate and evidence-based care.
• Communicating clearly and compassionately with pet owners, providing guidance on treatment options, preventative medicine, and long-term healthcare plans.
• Performing a range of medical, surgical, dental, and minor surgical procedures appropriate to the practice.
• Utilising diagnostic findings and clinical assessment to establish appropriate treatment and follow-up plans.
• Working collaboratively with Veterinarians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, and support staff to maintain an efficient, supportive, and positive practice environment.
• Building lasting relationships with clients and helping improve access to essential veterinary services within the local community.
• Supporting the wider mission of a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving animal welfare and helping pets remain healthy and within their homes.
• Contributing to the continued growth and success of a well-established organisation committed to clinical excellence, accessible care, and positive outcomes for animals. Package and Benefits • Competitive base salary of up to $150,000, depending on experience.
• 30-minute client appointments designed to support thorough consultations and high-quality patient care.
• No weekend work, providing a predictable schedule and strong work-life balance.
• Well-managed workload with an emphasis on quality of care rather than high-volume consultations.
• Excellent clinical autonomy, allowing Doctors to exercise their professional judgement in patient care.
• 401(k) retirement plan.
• Generous Continuing Education (CE) allowance with dedicated CE leave.
• Paid Time Off (PTO).
• Medical insurance.
• Opportunity to work within a mission-driven, not-for-profit veterinary organisation.

• Active South Carolina veterinary licence, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE).
• Authorisation to work in the United States.
