Manages physician schedules as needed. Coordinates and schedules appointments for surgeries and procedures at the clinic, ambulatory surgery center or hospital. Reports To Primary Physician / Office Manager Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1. Schedules imaging, testing and Office Visits, follow-up appointments as designated by physicians according to established policies and procedures.
2. Interact with patients’, physicians and other staff within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
3. Works with the nurse to make arrangements for surgical assistants, special equipment, and surgical materials.
4. Schedule diagnostic therapy and other treatments as requested.
5. Obtain authorization for appointments and testing from patient’s insurance company.
6. Answer and screen telephone calls in a courteous manner, and record messages for physician and other personnel.
7. Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
8. Input Patient/Insurance data into practice Management system.
9. Rotate to the Front Desk as needed. Greets patients and checks them into the system. Brings patients back if needed.
10. Rotate to rooming patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information.
11. Completes intake process, Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight.
12. Maintain files and patient records in a confidential manner.
13. Review, enter, schedule, and scan referrals
14. Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.

Education Medical Assistant Certificate Experience Minimum of two years of administrative assistant experience in a medical office, including experience with insurance preauthorization. Performance Requirements Knowledge

1. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.
3. Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
4. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type, review and edit reports, documentation and correspondence.
5. Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
6. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.

3. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
4. Ability to interpret and understand insurance benefits and reimbursement.

Physical/Mental Demands Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment.
