Accounts Payable Representative Part-Time
Wilson McLain Plumbing is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Representative to join our team.
Position Overview
This position will begin as full-time during the training period, with the length of training based on the individual's experience and ability to become comfortable with the role. Once training is completed, the position will transition to part-time, approximately 2430 hours per week. Thursday and Friday are required 8-hour workdays. The remaining hours and schedule will be determined based on business needs and the employee's availability.
What You'll Do
- Process, review, and enter vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Verify invoices, purchase orders, approvals, and coding
- Process checks, ACH payments, and other vendor payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate AP records and documentation
- Respond to vendor questions and maintain positive relationships
- Assist with month-end closing and audit requests
- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting requirements, including W-9 and sales tax requirements
- Enter daily bookkeeping and records into accounting software
- Work with internal departments to gather and verify financial information
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting degree or coursework preferred
- 13 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
- Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
- Reliable and consistent attendance
Work Environment
This is an office-based position at our company headquarters. The role involves extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
