Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

Join our team as a Forklift Operator, where you will handle both sit-down and clamp forklifts. You will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, particularly during the first two weeks, by sweeping and handling paper bails. You will receive training on operating a Clamp Truck and Skid Steer. This role requires a balance of 70% forklift operations and 30% general labor and cleaning duties. A strong emphasis is placed on being coachable and maintaining a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down and clamp forklifts efficiently.
• Participate in cleaning duties, especially in the first two weeks, by sweeping paper and handling paper bails.
• Load and unload paper bails safely and efficiently.
• Receive and apply training on Clamp Truck and Skid Steer operations.
• Maintain a clean work environment and help with housekeeping duties.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies.
• Engage in general labor tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Essential Skills

• Experience with sit-down and clamp forklifts.
• Capability to lift, stand, bend, and stoop, managing up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in operating heavy equipment safely.
• Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or construction is ideal.
• Team player mentality with the ability to adapt to various tasks.
• Willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled, dusty, and potentially overwhelming environment.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with potential work on 2-3 Saturdays per month. Flexibility with shifts is required. The work environment is a non-climate-controlled paper and cardboard recycling center, which can be dusty, dirty, and filled with paper shreds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olive Branch, MS.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Olive Branch,MS.
