Area Manager, Construction Services (Transportation)

We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.What you’ll be challenged to do:As the Area Construction Manager, you be responsible for providing direction and leadership on multiple projects locally and identifying opportunities to further grow GFT's presence in the region. You will develop and lead strategic and tactical operational initiatives in with the goal of meeting sales and revenue targets, developing client relationships focused on project execution. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Recruiting and hiring a solid construction management group.Developing and mentoring a team, promoting collaborative, collective problem-solving, and a culture that fosters teamwork and effective communication.Participate in and oversee bid reviews for projects regionally, reviewing and negotiating agreements and contracts.Provide leadership and guidance to the project managers and support staff assigned to projects, ensuring all projects progress, on schedule and within budget.Take full responsibility for ensuring the most effective utilization of all resources regionallyReview weekly and monthly project status reports and evaluate that schedules and plans meet the required project performance goals.Assemble project teams, leveraging internal resources as well as external through existing resource network.Oversee project cost controls, budgets, invoicing, estimates and project forecasts and provide regular updates to management, with an emphasis on profit, positive cash flow, and timely project closeout procedures.Where necessary, take a lead role in resolving any contractual, legal and/or compliance issues with owners, JV partners or suppliers.Be a champion in the implementation of new policies and procedures across your group to improve efficiencies and workflow, directly overseeing the change management process.Responsible for leading and capturing new contract and project opportunities in TransportationWhat you will bring to our firm: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent training and experience is requiredProfessional registration as a PE in California required15+ years of proven Project Management experience in the AEC industryKnowledge to build a strong construction management group is required Proven success in delivering high quality projects on time and on budgetExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProven ability to work through and overcome conflicts productively, while maintaining professionalism at all timesWhat we prefer you bring: CCM preferredSubstantial experience on large scale heavy civil projects (bridges, roads, highways, rail etc.) is preferredCompensation:The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $275,000.
