Overview Financial Officer II. Manages and has significant authority for financial operations of larger, more complex units. Duties include developing and administering budgets and financial systems, projecting revenue, space and facility planning, grants management, and regulatory compliance. Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles; establishes and maintains accurate financial management databases; provides financial guidance to assigned staff and appropriate university personnel; coordinates integration with the University accounting system. May oversee billing and collections operations, including third party reimbursement and direct patient billing for some units. May manage revenue producing activity and all or parts of the accounting function for the assigned unit. Typically supervises office support and/or professional staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions as necessary. Handles other duties as assigned. Administers financial/logistical support for assigned divisions within the Department of Pediatrics, often large or complex. Acts as a communication liaison with internal and external resources. Plans and carries out special assignments related to the success of these programs. Prepares activity reports for assigned divisions. Responsible for adherence to program budgets. Gathers data for quality assurance and long-term financial planning for programs. Responsibilities Provide clerical, fiscal, and budgetary services per established policies and procedures, requiring knowledge of fundamentals concepts, practices, and procedures related to accounting, financial analysis, budgetary processes, and grants management for assigned Pediatrics divisions. Analyze gross expenditures, provide deadline-sensitive reports and journal entries, and budget-ready analysis of key financial accounts. Collaborate with other department staff to develop financial reports. Manage active grants in assigned divisions, including monthly accounting reports related to financial liabilities. Coordinate all pre/post award related issues. Responsible for the management and reconciliation of divisional grant and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, as well as some Departmental accounts. Perform other duties as assigned. Salary Range: $55,180 - $89,670 Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
