Duties

Supports the Commander, Deputy Commander, Director of Staff and Directors. Provides critical analysis and brainstorming on issues of interest to senior leadership.

Serves as the advisor on programs and initiatives within the group. Maintains cognizance of the effectiveness and status of Commander programs and activities by reviewing program status documents; internal metrics and/or productivity reports; management indicators; inspection, staff assistance, and audit reports; and from visual observations and personal contacts within the AFDW Staff, HQ Air Force, wing/group staff and operating personnel.

Updates Staff on conferences, including analysis of topics covered, potential problems and recommendations. Writes reports, builds briefings and prepares other necessary correspondence to provide updates; analyzes information, identifies problem areas, and makes recommendations concerning assigned program, plans and projects to the commander.

Plans, organizes and executes complex programs, meetings and visits, e.g., visits from senior government representatives, senior foreign government representatives, wing commanders. Recommends program changes to managers/supervisors.

Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Independently plans and performs complex office automation duties requiring different approaches and methods from one assignment to another, such as using different packages to: edit lengthy and complicated reports; collect, select, organize, and provide information; and resolve incompatibility problems in transferring text from one software package to another when menu options and specific software instructions are not available.
