Portfolio Valuation Manager

Position Summary Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions (S&T) team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. As a professional in our Portfolio Valuations practice, you’ll work alongside experienced specialists to analyze illiquid and complex instruments, translate market and portfolio dynamics into defensible conclusions, and deliver audit-ready, decision-useful insights for stakeholders.Work you’ll doAs a Manager on the portfolio valuation team, you will be responsible for:Leading independent valuation analyses for illiquid assets and complex financial instruments, with a focus on corporate credit, term loans, private debt, private equity, alternative investments and structured and securitized productsBuilding, reviewing, and refining cash flow and valuation models, including assumptions, limitations, and sensitivity analyses Preparing audit-ready valuation documentation and supporting financial reporting valuation needs for derivatives, debt instruments, and employee stock option plans Conducting credit and portfolio analysis, validating third-party manager reports and underlying data, and advising clients on valuation implications for regulatory, compliance, and stakeholder needs Leading day-to-day engagement execution by collaborating with audit and client stakeholders, communicating technical findings clearly, and coaching junior team members across multiple concurrent projectsA successful candidate would possess these skills:Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a teamEffective written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and quality of work productAbility to build and sustain professional relationshipsAbility to lead projects or workstreamsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong interpersonal skills and professional demeanorAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to mentor and provide clear guidance to othersThe teamOur Valuation & Modeling team provides financial modeling for business planning, transactions, and operational improvements. We conduct valuation for tax purposes, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), litigation, bankruptcy, and risk management. Additionally, we support audit processes with fair value measurements.Deloitte’s portfolio valuation services undertakes debt valuations for some of the largest global asset managers and financial institutions, advising clients on either standalone transactions or on a periodic basis. As part of our debt valuation work, the team values private debt, structured products, loan portfolios (corporate, residential mortgage, credit card), commercial real estate (CRE) debt and assets, residential mortgage pools, stressed and distressed assets, intercompany trades, and private equity, among other asset classes.Globally, Deloitte assesses valuations for 26% of the top 50 global asset managers and serves nearly 50% of the top 50 real estate companies by revenue.Qualifications Required:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or equivalent 6+ years of experience in business valuation consulting or intangible asset valuation consulting 4+ years of experience valuing debt, equity, and structured securities 4+ years of experience performing credit analysis or portfolio analysis Experience applying generally accepted valuation approaches, including income, market, and cost approaches, and developing financial models for common stock, business entities, or intangible assets Ability to travel 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveLimited immigration sponsorship may be availablePreferred:Master’s degree in Finance Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Experience valuing or pricing illiquid and complex financial instruments, including structured or securitized products, private credit, or alternative investmentsThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,300 to $240,500.You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
