Shift: 3x12 hours rotation, Day/Night, 07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00

Job Description

The Acute Stroke Unit at a tertiary care hospital specializes in the care of acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders. The MedSurg/Tele RN will provide evidence-based care, focusing on optimizing stroke care during primary prevention and acute care phases.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy, including peripheral line care.
• Utilize EPIC for charting and documentation.
• Implement isolation precautions as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York RN license in hand is mandatory.
• Minimum of 1 year of MedSurg/Tele nursing experience required.
• Must have ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• EPIC experience is a hard requirement.
• Must be able to float between units as required.
