Fundraising and Storytelling Intern at Girls Empowerment Network

Description The Fundraising and Storytelling Intern will support fundraising and communications efforts for Girls Empowerment Network. This internship will assist with community fundraising events, donor stewardship, and collecting and crafting stories that highlight the impact of our work. Work-study students can expect to gain valuable skills in fundraising, storytelling for nonprofit audiences, donor database management, and partner outreach. This position will be remote with occasional in‑person needs. Location Remote and in person at Girls Empowerment Network’s Central Texas Office, 3710 Cedar Street, Austin, TX 78705. Key Responsibilities Support community and third-party fundraising efforts, including outreach, partnership communication, and collaboration with the marketing team to develop materials. Identify, gather, and craft compelling stories that showcase the impact of Girls Empowerment Network for use in donor communications, fundraising campaigns, and reports. Assist with donor stewardship efforts, including thank‑you processes and event support to foster donor relationships. Help maintain and manage donor records in Salesforce, as well as research and organize prospective donors. Attend fundraising and community events, agency meetings, and team check‑ins as a representative and internal partner of Girls Empowerment Network. Reports to Director of Development and Communications Length of Appointment Academic Year (September 2025 through May 2026) Time Commitment Minimum 10 hours/week; maximum 25 hours/week. A few evening and weekend hours may be required. Compensation $500 stipend for the year. Interns will receive $250 in December 2025 and $250 in May 2026. College credit is also available in addition to the stipend. Skills/Qualifications Applicants must be team‑oriented, self‑starters who have an eye for detail and a positive attitude. Must be committed to the goals/mission of Girls Empowerment Network and social justice.
