Bookkeeper

Job Description Job Description Our client is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join their team! The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and providing financial reporting support. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and experience working with accounting software and financial processes. Key Responsibilities Record daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, sales, receipts, and payments. Accurately classify and assign transactions to the appropriate accounts. Maintain organized and up-to-date ledgers and journals. Accounts Payable & Receivable Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments. Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with collections efforts. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable activities. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies as needed. Bank Reconciliation Reconcile company bank accounts and credit card statements. Compare internal financial records to bank statements to identify and resolve discrepancies. Ensure financial records remain accurate and audit-ready. Payroll Processing Process employee payroll accurately and on schedule. Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and other payroll adjustments. Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements. Maintain payroll records and support payroll-related inquiries. Financial Reporting Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Provide financial information to management and external auditors as required. Budgeting & Forecasting Support Assist leadership with budgeting and financial planning activities. Monitor expenditures and compare actual results to budget forecasts. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making. Qualifications Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar accounting role. Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar platforms. Experience with bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Preferred Skills Knowledge of GAAP principles. Experience supporting audits and financial reviews. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
