Amsterdam, NY | ️ 13 Weeks | Psych RN – Days

Seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse for an urgent 13-week travel assignment. This position is ideal for an RN with extensive behavioral health experience and a proven travel background who is confident providing compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care in an acute setting.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to adult behavioral health patients
Complete comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and monitor therapeutic responses
Manage crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and CPI principles
Collaborate with psychiatrists and the interdisciplinary treatment team
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure a safe therapeutic environment

Requirements:

Active New York RN License
Current BLS Certification
Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification
Minimum 5 years of recent Psychiatric RN experience
Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience (renewals preferred)

Assignment Details:

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
3 x 12-hour shifts per week
13-week assignment
Immediate need with ASAP start
Previous employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
