Dental Assistant Location: Spencer, IA 51301 | Full-Time Spencer Smiles Family Dentistry is looking for a motivated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. Clinical Responsibilities Provide expert chairside assistance to Dr. Pearson across a full range of procedures Assist across our complete scope of services: preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, family dentistry, implant restorations, dental prosthetics, clear aligner treatment, periodontal (gum) disease treatment, laser dentistry, sleep apnea appliances, mouth guards, and emergency dentistry Assist with Waterlase dental laser procedures Take and process digital X-rays and intraoral images in compliance with Iowa state regulations Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols Set up operatories and ensure all instruments, materials, and equipment are prepared and ready before every appointment Ensure patient comfort and provide calm, compassionate support before, during, and after treatment Take dental impressions and assist with lab tasks as directed Provide post treatment instructions and patient education on oral hygiene and home care Track dental supply inventory and process orders as needed Prepare, enter, and track lab cases from submission through delivery Maintain accurate, updated patient records in full compliance with HIPAA Administrative Support (as needed) Welcome patients and assist with check-in and check-out Schedule and confirm appointments using practice management software Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries in a warm, professional manner Support billing and additional office tasks as directed What Makes You a Great Fit Iowa Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential Completion of an approved radiation safety course and radiography training required per Iowa state regulations Current CPR certification required Experience as a dental assistant preferred Calm, patient centered presence that makes every patient feel genuinely welcomed and at ease Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients of all ages and backgrounds Self managing work ethic Proficient with dental software and technology, comfort with digital radiography and intraoral imaging Strong attention to detail in clinical work, documentation, and operatory setup Ability to multitask confidently in a fast-paced environment Positive, collaborative team player who contributes to a warm and efficient practice culture What We Offer Competitive wage commensurate with experience and credentials Paid time off package Paid life insurance 401(k) with annual company match Access to a full suite of elective benefits Overjet AI-assisted imaging and Waterlase dental laser technology Broad clinical exposure across a full-service practice: preventive, restorative, cosmetic, implants, laser dentistry, sleep apnea, clear aligners, and more A supportive team culture where patients and colleagues alike feel at home A meaningful role serving a community that values long-term relationships with their dental care team Ready to join a team that puts patients first and genuinely loves what they do?
