The Team: The American Girl Retail team is integral in providing lifetime memories to American Girl fans and their families. Our experiential retail stores provide shopping destinations like no other. This requires innovation, collaboration, and execution from all who are a part of this division. Our in-store experiences range depending on location from Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), hosting Parties/Celebrations to name a few. Expect a dynamic and fast-paced role where you get to make decisions that impact the team as well as our customers.

Job Description

The Opportunity: The Visual Merchandiser is located at the AG Retail Flagship NY location and reports directly to the Visual Manager. This position is responsible for new product launches and initiatives, seasonal floor sets, floor changes due to product availability, daily maintenance of product displays, and adherence to the organization's visual high standards.

What Your Impact Will Be:

• Assist Visual Leadership Team in the execution of display window changes, merchandise changes and planogram layouts, and graphic changes.
• Create dynamic displays using dolls and complementary product. Keep current on product knowledge.
• Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing tasks based on business need and to troubleshoot when product availability becomes an issue.
• Maintain the overall visual and merchandising standards of the store consistent with the organization's vision of the brand.
• Develop and maintain positive, cooperative relationships with staff, management, and corporate partners.
• Provide assistance to customers.
• Stock merchandise and other tasks when needed.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

• 1 - 2 years of successful work experience in retail merchandising, retail, or related field which includes expertise in customer service, preferred.
• Knowledge of general visual principles required with a strong emphasis on construction and detail.
• Manual skills in doll styling, straight blade cutting, and minor assembly, preferred.
• Ability to work independently and quickly within a team setting.
• Ability to lift and push a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

** Salary $19-21/hour, This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience
