Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Heating Air Conditioning Technician role based in Winston‑Samuel, NC. The technician will install, maintain, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Typical responsibilities include performing diagnostics, identifying and repairing faults, conducting preventive maintenance, and completing start‑up and commissioning of new equipment. The role involves interacting directly with customers, explaining service findings, providing recommendations, and ensuring a clean and safe work area at each job site. The technician will also complete accurate service documentation, follow safety and environmental regulations, coordinate with dispatch and supervisors, and participate in ongoing training to stay current with HVAC technologies and codes. Qualifications Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities, including experience with troubleshooting HVAC system performance and component failures. Knowledge of plumbing‑related tasks associated with HVAC systems, such as condensate drainage, refrigerant line routing, and safe connection practices. Demonstrated experience performing preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment, including cleaning, inspections, and performance checks. Understanding of EPA regulations and safe handling of refrigerants; EPA Section 608 certification or the ability to obtain it within a defined timeframe. Working knowledge of electricity as it applies to HVAC, including reading wiring diagrams, using electrical test instruments, and safely working with high‑and low‑voltage circuits. Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC or a related field; state or local HVAC license preferred where applicable. Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and the ability to travel locally to customer sites. Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and follow safety policies and procedures.
