Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in cardiac and vascular care is sought for a Step Down Unit within a Heart & Vascular Institute located in Morgantown, West Virginia. This position involves providing specialized patient care for complex cardiac and vascular postoperative cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on their first day and must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Job Details:

• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
• Position: Registered Nurse Cardiac/Vascular (Step Down Unit)
• Shift: Nights, three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekend and holiday requirements.
• Schedule: 36 hours per week minimum
• Required Qualifications: Valid license (willing to wait), BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS certification, two or more years of experience in cardiac or vascular nursing, proficient in titrating drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, Dobutamine, and familiarity with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Unit Information:
  • 32 beds (all private), including 22 step-down and 10 floor beds
  • Patient ratios: 1 RN to 3 patients in step-down, 1 RN to 6 patients on the floor
  • Staffing: 1 Clinical Associate per 8-10 patients, with a goal of 4-5 Clinical Associates on shift
  • Equipment: Cpap, Bipap, Hi-flow oxygen devices
  • Additional staff: CMTs interpreting strip readings, 24/7 charge nurses and house supervisors
  • Orientation: 2-3 shifts specific to unit protocols
  • Float requirements: Possible float to sister units within the institute
  • Attire: Solid royal blue scrubs with white
  • Charting system: EPIC
• Additional Information:
  • No tele monitoring on this unit, but monitor techs house and interpret strip readings.
  • No call or standby required; overtime may be available.
  • Candidates must be available to start on 07/13/2026.
